5. Your Content
You retain ownership of all content you create or upload to the Service ("Your Content"). By using the Service, you grant us a limited license to:
- Store and backup Your Content
- Process Your Content through AI features you choose to use
- Display Your Content to you and authorized collaborators
We do not claim ownership of Your Content and do not use it to train AI models.
Platform Intelligence and De-Identified Patterns
When you enable Platform Intelligence (presented as an opt-in choice when you first use Loops), you grant Lexic a non-exclusive license to create de-identified, generalized patterns from the learnings generated during your loop runs. These patterns are stripped of all identifying information and used to improve platform capabilities for all users.
You may disable Platform Intelligence at any time via your account settings without affecting your use of the Loops feature. This license terminates for future learnings when you disable the feature. For patterns already derived: where attribution to your data is still possible, you may request their deletion by contacting privacy@lexic.io; where patterns have been irreversibly de-identified to the point that they can no longer be attributed to any individual, they are retained as non-personal platform data.
This license does not apply to your notes, documents, or other content you create or upload -- it applies solely to task learnings generated by automated loop runs.
Content Ownership
For clarity, the following ownership rules apply:
You own:
- Notes, documents, and all content you create or upload
- Contextual learnings stored in your lexicon from loop runs
- Entities, connections, and knowledge graph data derived from your content
- AI-generated insights (summaries, synthesis reports) created from your content
Lexic owns:
- De-identified patterns derived with your consent through Platform Intelligence (these contain no personal data)
- Operational data such as system performance metrics and aggregate usage statistics
- The Service itself, including its software, algorithms, and design
6. AI Features and Word Allocation
AI-powered features process your content using word allocation based on your plan. You acknowledge that:
- Word allocation is consumed when AI features process your content
- The Service shows estimated word counts before AI operations
- Free tier: Words are a one-time lifetime grant that does not renew or expire
- Paid subscriptions: Words are allocated monthly and do not roll over to the next billing cycle
- Word packs: Purchased words expire 12 months from purchase date
- AI features may not be available if you exceed your allocation
- Autonomous loop runs (Loops) consume word allocation for context assembly, learning extraction, and embedding generation
7. Subscription and Payment
Paid subscriptions are billed in advance on a monthly or annual basis. You agree that:
- Subscription fees are non-refundable except as required by law
- We may change pricing with 30 days' notice for existing subscribers
- Failure to pay may result in suspension or termination of your account
- You are responsible for all applicable taxes
8. Intellectual Property
The Service and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by Lexic.io and are protected by international copyright, trademark, patent, trade secret, and other intellectual property laws.
9. Disclaimers
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT:
- The Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free
- Results from AI features will be accurate or reliable
- The Service will meet your specific requirements
10. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, LEXIC.IO SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS OR REVENUES, WHETHER INCURRED DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, USE, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES.
11. Termination
We may terminate or suspend your account and access to the Service immediately, without prior notice, for any reason, including if you breach these Terms. Upon termination:
- Your right to use the Service will immediately cease
- You may export Your Content before account deletion takes effect
- We may delete Your Content after a reasonable retention period
12. Changes to Terms
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will provide notice of material changes by posting the new Terms on this page. Your continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
13. Governing Law
